QN711 (King Cob) is a medium-late hybrid green mielie developed through extensive regional trials to offer growers a high-performing alternative in the fresh maize market. It reaches green harvest in approximately 92 days, allowing earlier maturity and reduced irrigation requirements, with potential for dryland production under favourable conditions. QN711 produces uniform white dent kernels with excellent sweetness, roasting and boiling quality, and maintains strong shelf life of up to 72 hours post-harvest. It offers high germination vigour, improved leaf disease tolerance, and resistance to Phaeosphaeria leaf spot, delivering reliable yields with grain potential up to 14 t/ha.
